Control

Effective 12 August 2026

Privacy choices

The shortest path to each privacy control in otherthing, including account deletion. Some controls require an authenticated account.

01 / Account deletion

Delete inside the app

Open You → Settings → Delete account. Read the deletion summary, type DELETE and confirm the final destructive action.

Once the server confirms deletion, otherthing clears the local account container and resets the session. The hosted operation removes the account, owned records, private photo storage and public avatar, subject to short-lived operational backups and legal obligations.

Deleting the app from your iPhone or iPad does not delete your account. Use the in-app deletion control or contact the operator if you cannot access the app.

02 / Shared photographs

Every sharing destination currently offered in the app is public. Review the audience and safe-copy disclosure before publishing. Where a withdrawal control is offered, use it on your own shared photograph.

If you cannot withdraw content yourself, contact the operator with the username, content type and enough detail to locate it. Do not send the source photograph.

03 / Notifications

Open You → Settings → Notifications to enable or disable replies and comments, Session and Conversation updates. You can also change otherthing notification permission in iOS Settings.

Disabling permission does not delete your account. otherthing is designed to unregister the current installation when notification access is disabled through the app.

04 / Session Atlas location sharing

Session Atlas is available only to confirmed attendees and the organiser while an In-person Session is live. It shares an approximate, short-lived location only after you turn sharing on, and you must share before seeing other current sharers.

Turn sharing off from that Session to remove your current point, or change otherthing location permission in iOS Settings. otherthing does not retain a Session Atlas location history.

05 / Blocks and reports

Use the member or content menu to block an account or report a profile, photograph, Conversation, reply, comment or Session. Manage existing blocks from You → Settings → Blocked members.

Reports enter a private operator queue. Ordinary members cannot read reports or see who submitted them.

06 / Access, correction or complaint

You can correct most profile and member-entered information inside the app. For an access request, a correction you cannot make, a deletion problem or a privacy complaint, contact the operator and identify the request as relating to otherthing.

We may need to verify that the account belongs to you before acting on a request. Do not send passwords, Sign in with Apple credentials or source photographs.
