01 / Accepting these terms
By creating an account, accessing the founding cohort or using the service, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use otherthing.
If you download otherthing through Apple’s App Store, your licence to use the app is also subject to Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement unless a custom licence is shown in the App Store.
02 / The service
otherthing is an interest-led service launching with Photography. It keeps meaningful Things, photographs, memories and related club activity connected. Access begins with a staged founding cohort.
We may change, test, suspend or remove features as the product develops. We will not represent fixture data or owner-operated editorial accounts as independent adoption.
03 / Accounts and access
- Provide accurate account information and keep your credentials secure.
- Use only an account you are authorised to control. Do not share passwords or attempt to access another member’s private record.
- The founding cohort may require evidence that photographs were captured with a supported camera family. This supports capture context; it does not verify ownership or authorship.
- We may limit or refuse cohort access where needed for safety, capacity, testing integrity or compliance.
04 / Your content
You retain ownership of content you submit. You must have the rights and permissions needed to publish it, including photographs, text, profile images and Session details.
You give otherthing a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, reproduce, resize, render, distribute and display content only as needed to operate, secure and improve the service and to show it to the audience you selected. This licence ends when the content is deleted, except for short-lived backups, cached copies and records we are legally required to retain.
Do not publish source material that exposes another person’s private information without permission. The app’s derivative controls reduce embedded metadata risk but do not replace your responsibility for what is visible in the image or text.

06 / Things, evidence and values
- A logged Thing is a member declaration that the member owns the object. It is not verified title, a warranty registration or a manufacturer account.
- Content Credentials and metadata provide context only. They do not prove authorship, ownership or manufacturer endorsement.
- A value you enter for a Thing stays private. It is not an appraisal, insured value, sale offer, realised price or live marketplace quote.
- Suggestions may be incomplete or wrong. Review and correct them before relying on them.
